Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Faroe Islands on this full-day Guided Best of the Faroe Islands tour. This small-group journey takes you across three islands — Streymoy, Eysturoy, and Vágar — where you’ll explore peaceful villages, dramatic waterfalls, and unforgettable coastal views.
With a local guide by your side, you’ll discover hidden gems and world-famous sights while learning about Faroese culture, history, and everyday life.
Your day begins with a morning pickup from your accommodation in Tórshavn, including Argir and Hoyvík. Once everyone is on board, you’ll set off along scenic mountain roads heading north toward Eysturoy Island. The landscape quickly changes from rolling green hills to deep fjords and dramatic peaks — a perfect introduction to the Faroe Islands.
Your first stop is the charming village of Gjógv, named after its natural gorge that stretches from the village to the open ocean. Take a walk along the cliffs and enjoy the sound of crashing waves below. Along the way, you’ll see the legendary sea stacks Risin and Kellingin, standing proudly off the northern coast.
Next, your guide takes you to Saksun, a quiet valley village surrounded by steep mountains and a tidal lagoon. This is one of the most photographed places in the Faroe Islands — peaceful, remote, and full of charm.
Continue to Fossá Waterfall, the tallest waterfall in the country, cascading down two levels into the sea below. Feel the mist on your face as you stand close to this powerful natural wonder.
From here, travel to Tjørnuvík, a small settlement nestled in a dramatic bay at the end of a deep valley. On clear days, you’ll see the sea stacks Risin and Kellingin in the distance, framed by cliffs and ocean.
Midday, enjoy a relaxing lunch break at a local restaurant, where you can purchase Faroese dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. (Restaurant availability may vary on certain weekdays.)
After lunch, the tour continues west to Vágar Island. You’ll pass through the undersea tunnel and drive along the coast toward Bøur, one of the most beautiful villages in the Faroe Islands. Here you’ll find traditional turf-roofed houses and a panoramic view of Tindhólmur and the Drangarnir sea stacks rising from the ocean.
The final stop is Gásadalur, home to the world-famous Múlafossur Waterfall — where a river flows directly off the cliffs and into the Atlantic Ocean. This incredible sight is the perfect ending to your day of exploration.
You’ll then return to Tórshavn, arriving in the early evening after an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Faroe Islands.
